Cougar Crosse-ing

On saturday 18 October the BYU lacrosse team will take on a perennial power and top 25 squad from the University Of Denver at Alta High School Stadium 3PM. Tickets are sold $10 general admission. The Cougs are coached by Jason Lamb in his 14th year (179-60 overall). Typically the team suits up at South Field with capacity of 2,178. They compete in the MCLA (Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association) and in the RMLC (Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference). The MCLA teams receive no funding from their representative colleges or the NCAA. This means unfortunately NO scholarships. Since 1996 the team have posted consecutive winning seasons.

The club was founded back in 1975 and went 4-5 in their only losing season on record. The teams worst record since 1995 came in 2006 when they finished 12-8 (although in 2006 the Cougs advanced to the Final Four). If you get a chance to check them out by all means don't hesitate. The Cougs have won three national championships (1997, 2000 and 2007).
