5 Key To Success

Injury Free
Regardless of who's playing BOTH teams always would like to play injury free. However, it seems like the last few games the trainers were making more plays than the opponent. If that includes drinking that pickle juice to make it happen then by all means drink up. Besides wouldn't you rather have that victory completely unblemished knowing it was taken straight up? Successful teams typically run the table with the least amount of injuries.
Turnover Game Currently conference opponent TCU is #1 nationally in turnover margin. Unfortunately the Cougs will have got a lot of ground to make up. We saw what a difference the TOs can make. Once one gets the flywheel turning its hard to stop.
Raving Fans There's nothing like a stadium sell out while seeing 65,000 fans decked out in blue. Hey when "The Quest" shirts are only $5 bucks there's no excuse (unless you've got a BLUE cougar jersey). Cougar fans are loud and proud. They make the opponent well aware who's territory they are in. The energy feeds onto the players (high fives, chest bumping, etc).
Mistake Free When the jerseys in blue take the field (on any given saturday) they've got to play mistake free. No room for error in mental lapses. Teams nowadays are just too good (within conference or not). Great drives or amazing plays can be absolutely killer with one single holding penalty, etc bringing it back. Can't let emotions get the better of an individual on the field. That includes players keeping their head on who might be trying to make the extra yard after the catch or wrapping up after the tackle. Bad things often occur when trying to do too much.
Key Wins Fact is sometimes one needs to root for the rival. Yes that includes the team up north. Whether its TCU or whoever. When those conference teams are ranked it makes the victory all the sweeter when it becomes head to head and makes the conference look better when it comes time for the rankings.

I love your comment about wearing blue to the games... At the UCLA game my wife and I were walking to the stadium and I saw this guy wearing a regular non-blue striped shirt to the game... My wife (being a girl) did not understand why I started to complain and call him retarded... Wear blue or go home....

It's all about the jersey this year, man. 2008 is the year of the jersey.

I actually just got my jersey last wk (#85 never worn actual game jersey from 92). This could be a special year. The future is rather bright. Go Cougs!
