79 Days

Yes, the crowds may have left the stands and the lights already turned off. Most of the students may have also gone home for the holidays. For many there might be one shopping day left but there's only 79 days left for the cougs to make their case for the March Madness brackets (announced March 13th). As the jerseys in blue break to spend time with their family the cougs are currently 4th in the RPI, 6th in the sagarin ratings and have already faced six teams in the RPI top 100 (5-1 against those teams). They are already making a strong case for the best seed possible led of course by Jimmer the jet.

Last season about the only thing that stopped Jimmer was his health. This season it doesn't appear to be a factor leaving the opponents sick on how to stop him while he averages 24.2 points per game and is currently the cougs 5th all time leading scorer. Jackson Emery is also only 8 steals away from being the all time leader. Sophomore Brandon Davies is quickly emerging as another reliable option who has averaged 14 a game throughout his last 7 matchups. Noah Harsock is currently the 8th all time block leader with 84. As a team the jerseys in blue are 10th in the nation averaging 82.7 per matchup against opponents while holding teams to an average of just over 64 per game. Definately a rather nice differential and shaping up for another nice season for the cougs.
